Typically, "Grain Reduction" may be required and set to "High" for most 35mm slides. The preview can be used to determine if any other adjustments are required such as "Unsharp Mask", "Grain reduction", "Color restoration", etc. Whatever editing thereafter, it is done in the photo editing software such as LR, not within Epson's software.Īfter completing a scan, you can click on "Preview" to view the results before clicking on scan.
I typically use 400 to 600 dpi for resolution. Then select "Film" and then "Color Negative Film". The one I always use for scanning 35mm negatives and or slides is "Professional Mode". My question is related to using an Epson Scan software, Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Fast Stone Photo Viewer.
The V600 seems to produce acceptable quality at reasonable cost. I'm going to digitize a lot of color and B/W film strips, slides and old pictures with resolution suitable to print 8x10 picture at 300 dpi. I could not find thread for photo scanners and hope to get practical advice on using the Epson V600 I just purchased.
